About

palgakulu.ee is a collection of free web calculators in Estonian, English and Russian. We help people quickly and clearly work out salary, taxes, car and forestry costs and everyday measurements – with no sign-up, right in the browser.

How we calculate

Every calculator follows the official rates and formulas in force in Estonia. Tax calculations are based on data from the Estonian Tax and Customs Board (EMTA) and the Riigi Teataja (State Gazette); forestry, health and other calculations on recognised methodologies. Key assumptions (e.g. the 2nd pillar rate, the basic exemption) are visible and adjustable on the calculator.

Sources and transparency

We don't ask you to take our word for it – every tax and finance calculator links to an official source (EMTA, the Riigi Teataja, the Health Insurance Fund, the Social Insurance Board, the Private Forest Centre, the Pension Centre and others) so you can verify the figure yourself.

How we keep data up to date

We review tax rates and thresholds at least once a year – mainly in January, when the new year's changes take effect – and as soon as an official source announces a change. Every page footer shows a "Last updated" date. The current figures are for 2026.

Accuracy and liability

Results are informational and do not replace professional tax, financial or health advice. For complex or important decisions, rely on official sources or consult a specialist. We do our best to be accurate but are not liable for decisions made on the basis of a calculator alone.

Privacy

All calculations run in your browser – the data you enter is not sent to a server. We measure visits anonymously and without cookies. Read more on the privacy page.
