How long is the benefit paid?
The duration depends on the insurance record: 180 days with under 5 years, 210 days with 5–10 years and 300 days with over 10 years. In a difficult labour market situation the duration is extended by 60 days.
Who is entitled to the unemployment insurance benefit?
The benefit is available to a person registered as unemployed with the Unemployment Insurance Fund who has at least 12 months of insurance record within the last 36 months. Without an income-based entitlement, a base-rate benefit may be available (2026: €443 per month).
